



It's no secret that after his marriage to Mary D. Schenk in 1882 that they went to Highland of Greene county, Iowa, to live. If your looking for him on the map he is in the upper right, a few sections over from the corner.
On the clipping of Fred Schroeders article about his first days to Greene county in 1883, just a year later after Juergen Hch. Frederick had settled, it said that he made his way through swampy grassy land. He made his home near Fred Meyer's.[I really should do a time line.]

I have visited Churdan briefly, and believe me it is a charming small town with it's citizens of the the Irish; Scottish; and English heritage.

By now, it's no secret to you that Frederick Meyer and Mary Schenk paved the way for the other Meyers to follow. Unless that mysterious brother in Oregon came first or at the same time.
