Genealogy familiennamen SCHROEDER, SEIL, iLLINOIS AND iOWA fAMILY HISTORY

FOR YOUR INFORMATION AND ENJOYMENT I SHARE THIS ARTICLE

I received this from a local volunteer in Iowa and later it was shared by one of the family. I would give credit to this, if I knew exactly where it came. I would say from a local paper, but more than likely from one of the books. Calhoun county has a great local history book with biographical accounts of citizens and Greene county does as well. I might have this on another page.

What Do I Do Now?

Good day readers.

I suppose it gets old for you readers when I post my little blog problems. I have to today, just to seek advice and help.  Today I am telling you I  seem to have a duplicate address with a minor change. However,  it's still coming from the main address. right now I am posting to the blog with the changed address.

At the moment I don't know what to do. google could shut me down because of duplicate material. so maybe I should shut myself down temporarily.
I have AdSense at the side, and not sure how to go about canceling the program without repercussions. I never made a cent to my account cause I didn't finish the forms.

reading and keeping track of  my overview  and readers;  I notice it's often changed somehow to track my own views. An it been searched by this link and I looked  r-e-f-e-r-e-r here at this link not enabled - http://r-e-f-e-r-e-r.cxx
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Referer_spam
At one time I looked further and there was just an ad under one audience address. I can't say they are the reason for my  troubles.
Oh golly why does there have to be people like that  in this world. people who have to make it off of your own hard work.
I need some answers.and heres the question.

What do I do now?

So readers I could use a little help and advice.

Also I hope You  all have a good fathers day weekend.!

Linked to a Irish Tall Tale at A Rootdiggers Sunnyside Blog

Tis a Good day  I bid you. on St. Paddies day. If you wish to hear my Irish tall tale click the picture below and it will take you to my tall tale.
From vintage moth via pininterest

It makes no sense to me why a  german descendant would be convrersing as if she was of Irish descent. but it's done,  so there you have it.
I know so little how the Irish conversed in fairy tales, but I tried. It helped a little to be watching some old Irish movies on Amc tv. In one of them they used thee and thou?? Not sure if that should be the case.  Forgive my errors. Genne Alogist

Luck of the Draw Story of Luck of a STILLE Find Victory

I had the good luck to find my
Katharina Margarethe Elisabeth Meyer -- Stille.

That's right. I said I found her in living in Germany 1919 after all that searching in Illinois yesterday.

Go ahead and give me praise it will  feel good.!

Sometimes winning is bittersweet. Don't you agree.
Sometimes it's a victory you didn't  really  earn by hard labor at the moment it happens. Actually I have put time into my search. On and off searches for her with very little to go on.

To make a long story short all I needed was very little information after all. Just her new surname and her birth date. Ancestry.com supplied the rest.
yup. I can say that it was that easy that day after finishing my  post yesterday.

The birth date was fresh in mind not confused by any other's date. I clicked my searching process and was about to click on family tree once I had advanced to that stage and there it was the entry of her name and birth date at census of  Mecklenburg  Ludwigslust- born or in that case Geb.-  2.2.1842 at Eichdorf. which I figured was mine at Lueneburg stadt in Niedersachen.  What luck right. Must be that early st Paddies day coming my way. Normally I would pass over as I cuss the census of Mecklenburg cause it's usually not for me and the first thing I have to get through in order to get to the rest. also most often I find it as error on others pages cause when you enter in Bleckede, it gives you Bleckede Ludwigslust. People who don't know any better select it.

She was Living 1919 at Dömitz Doemitz, Mecklenburg with husband Henry or Heinrich STILLE. Census taken just after W.W.1.  He was born 12 Okt.1839 in Dömitz, Ludwigslust.
Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany 1919 census.
Follow up census is 1900,1890, and  1867. I saw they had  one child Wilhelmeine age o. They  were suppose to have been married around 1867. It may take me awhile to get used to viewing two forms for one year. On another one there  was   a Heinrich STILLE head of household for Domitz,  stadt Domitz too, with three children without birth dates. Minna, a Marie and one other girl [Margarete I think].. But can't call it yet.  Nothing in Family Trees category so far.

The Moral of my story. Don't wish away something you might cuss at the moment cause it just might be really good for you after all. [That is the conflict of my story- Because I must have overlooked and ignored it without knowing I had]  [IF IT HADN'T SAID  GEB. EICHDORF i WOULD HAVE OVERLOOKED IT AGAIN!.]
When I know I am going to be really busy with housework or some big project in the next oncoming weeks that is when the luck of the draw falls my way.
.
I  do have good luck.
My happy ending to my story

Note:
I also searched   and saw surnames at that region - Mosel and Drinkhahn because Boizenburg was also given as city once so I ran it through. I am going to browse here  for my Meyer and the Dor Meyer Koenig here too.

U.S. Cities Directories at Ancestry.com; Margarethea Meyer Stile

map of  burned Chicago, Illinois;   Fire 1871 - This image  is in the public domain because its copyright has expired.

 For my post today keep in mind that there is One thing that  hinders our research is the lack of census for our ancestral Illinois inhabitants.

Upon learning that many valuable documents were lost in the Great Chicago fire, I have had to appreciate what is out there for use to fill in the gaps and I think these directories help do that  along with the vitals of Birth, Death, Marriages and  followups checking census on their moves to other regions. Such as census of Reading Iowa to register the time of move and birth  and marriages of  their children.

I wanted to post today to share my great find. Actually a double find which is  an aide for the other in my research .
First find-
  http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3b/Great_Chicago_Fire_map.jpg
Yes it's a wonderful colorized map of the region of Illinois  that burned  Oct.,10,1871. It concerns me because I still search for a Margret Stiles or Stille,  [Geb.  February 02, 1842.];  whom maybe perished during the fire.

Second main find
Ancestry.com delux  carries some U.SA. city  directories.. My interest  of course for Stile  lies in Chicago in the map area.  It was Not  the only place I happened to discover it, I saw it  while looking into the Heinrich Dohrman tree who lived in Will county, Illinois about 1870. Directories listed a few years for maybe  him all the way to 1885 or 6. The thing is even though I was researching for Joliet, Will county Illinois, it was showing content for Chicago for others on the page. So why Not swing that way. [My Adhd is no problem for me!!]

 It wasn't long before I was using the directories  for more  unsolved people from my Meyer family tree book inserts .As I said,  I left the tree family history research of  Dohrmann, with the  Frotscher, Vogel, Seil  who were suppose to live near by and  I moved on to Stille.

I copied  down a few names for Stiehl, Stile, Stiles, and Stille. And checking 1870 census closely. Double checking who was missing the following years of the male Stiles. All different locations. In a fragment of a memory of something ol' M&M said once, the location Des Plaines, Illinois  jumped out at me.
And remembering this might give a hint that our Margret Meyer Stiles died :

Always Helpful Ancestry link says "Generally a city directory will contain an alphabetical list of citizens, listing the names of the heads of households, their addresses, and occupational information. Sometimes a wife's name will be listed in parentheses or italics following the husband's. Other helpful information might include death dates for individuals who had been listed in the previous year's directory, names of partners in firms, and forwarding addresses or post offices for people who had moved to another town"

There was one Elizabeth who probably came from Hesse Cassel and maybe born 1823. Not mine. Need to check this Elizabeth Stiles  in detail further.

Search > Schools, Directories & Church Histories > City & Area Directories > U.S. City Directories, 1821-1989 (Beta)

 More time is needed to return to this with  Katharina Margarethe Elisabeth, Geb.  February 02, 1842.  birth in mind. She's the only Margarete  that is mentioned as a child  of  Juergen Friedrich Meyer family History.
Remember the Meyer book rarely mentioned the children of his second marriage, only that I know of in His sons obituary. There was a list of  sister siblings of Fred and William Meyer, but no exact information other than Margarete marrying  a Stiles or Stille.Stille  who could in fact be from Norway or Sweden. Who knows?.

There is always new information being introduced at Ancestry.com. More and more work is done with Graves stones such as Find a Grave and Rabbit- Grave resources. I must definitely pursue cemeteries again.

Notes about my research with the directories and family names:
- I  also pursued and copied down potential names of  Seil's witnesses for his naturalization.- Meissenger, and Shaw hoping to see Seil mention the same year. More time needed about 1879 and 1880.
- Later on , I might even check the fire  that roared in Pestigo, Wisconsin at the same time.in 1871 for any Stille or Meyer info.

Kinder Juergen Friedrich Meyer und Luhmann Tree

To see it larger, click it and then open it in another page.At least that is the way I am able to see it with my xp windows program. What your seeing above is the church document from the Nahrendorf church listing the children or Kinder of Juergen Friedrich Meyer and Catharina Margarethea Luhmann. This last one 2[1] is continued kinder child 6, 7 and 8. into a second page. I had not been told before about the last birth. It comes as no surprise as lead to the cause of her death.. What I love about this is the extra information involving their spouses. And their deaths. Child No. 6 - Dorothea Elisabeth Meyer was married to Holldorf, Carl Friedrich Gustav.

Luhmann, Lumann, Meyer familienforschung

To enlarge this for viewing click it and then after you have done that try putting it in another tab.

I realize that my Meyer Luhmann familienforschung is further back in the ,blog posts. around 2008. The search for our Meyer and then Lumann  family history work was don at the archives of Dahlenburg and  Nahrendorf was done by angel in Uelzen. Now going over  the church information  that I received last year I have noticed some changes in the information. So lets start with an attachment   file of  familienforschung for Juergen Friedrich Meyer and his wife Catharina Margaretha Luhmann who lived at Eichdorf and Oldendorf in Prussia.
I hope the view of the file works for you. I had particularly asked if they could supply hints for residence.  It was not  the specific  place in the village that I was hoping to find.  But it is helpful. all the same.  Notice  the attention to the fact that Juergen Friedrich Meyer lived at Röthen  at the time he married Ahrens. You'll have to check older blogs  to see those png  files.

I hope your interested in the updates I have on the Luhmann family history ancestry. I should be posting that png file very soon. Remind me if it doesn't come in a day or two.

Second Child of Meyer / Ahrens - Anna Louise Auguste Meyer

Anna Louise Auguste Meyer must have had a short but,  nice life.
Like my mother she was a twin that lived to adulthood without the other. This particular child lived long enough to be godmother herself and   to be a source of the  name  for  our Anna Meyer Bennett. According to the highlighted  material below Anna Louise Auguste married  Hermann Heinrich Wilhelm Haul, a schuhmacher in Oldendorf. She almost made it to 28 years  of age.  She probably had children,  and more than likely it was a double childs birth that took her life.  We should try and get those family history tree records. Maybe we can find some of the Haul family in the area.

Note: I have had the church records to these twins before I knew they actually were our on Juergen Friedrich Meyer's family history tree  [I had my suspicions,  let me tell you.]
Each time I get a duplicate record of family members there are usually facts that are different than the others.
 I  can live with it. But I need to point  out those  particular discrepancies as I go along.

The Discrepancies on this page.
1- I am wondering if the name Grummer is correct I am  recalling the name Grummet.
I'll get back to this. I need to locate pages etc.  later.

You all have a good day.

Were continuing on  with the Meyer,  Ahrens Family Tree  History Mini Series.- Second Marriage

Yesterday I published the post on Catharine Dorothea Ahrens the second wife with Juergen Friedrich Meyer [geb 1814] To save space and time I will say that all their births  were at Röthen and  they were all baptized at Nahrendorf.  Above is a  copy of the document of the Meyer / Ahrens  Family History tree  from the Nahrendorf church that you can actually read.  I am not sure why it was printed out so faint. So, My son came to my rescue and separated the pages into smaller parts and most of all, he  made them so we could read  them. Meyer Ahrens Family Tree History - Mini Series -Second Marriage

I am all Tickled Tingly Pink.
Welcome back for a new day and a new Post.  Today I am happy to share more of the Mini series of the Meyer and  Ahrens family tree history. I always get tickled pink when I get new lists of Gevattern  or god parents for  my individuals and this time the names ring familiar.    Are you  ready to get all pink and tingly?   So here goes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Juergen Friedrich Meyer made a second marriage to  Catharina Dorothea Ahrens.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That's all of the church record about her for the time being. I  want to post her children soon.

However your not off Scott free yet. There are  still small details  to be discussed.  I  wonder if you noticed the small changes in her name. They usually have that  first name of three names  that they don't really use. But we were only given two.   Sometimes she was Katharine and other times labeled Catharine and Catharina and the 'C' and  'K '  letter changed from time to time. I tried to give exactly what I saw in the  church record.
You may have noticed in the marriage document of the trauregister she was  formally Katharine Dorothea Ahrens and so her mother was Katharine Dorothea Elisabeth  too. Later when it mentioned her baptism and her death she was Catharina just as her mother was Catharina. In regards to the mother they always included her third in the line of  names -  Elisabeth.

It's interesting too that Catharina  is in the names of the  Godmothers  or Godmutter.  Notice the intermix of the name Magdalena and Margaretha.

I never miss a chance to point out [ wink] this connection to the Rosseburg tree as I give you page 1 link.  and the all important marriage -
5. *20.3.1828 Johann Jürgen Heinrich MICHELS,
-oo md. 11.10.1857 Margareta Dorothea AHRENS, aus Mücklingen*
If I am trapping  you here, I might as well make it good, so here's the other  important link.  Eventually I'll help you with that. Up at the left side of the page 72 from Heinrich Borstelmann's book about the hofs of Mucklingen you will see HalbHof 5.  Down on the line of the year 1815 we find the Eh. zw. which is the marriage of her parents.  [I suppose it goes with out saying all the references to Seil in Breese that we can do without now.] Without church proof we see more of their family history. Something I can't get into right now.

Nope, no more.  Your free to move on. Please come back and I will tickle you again. In one of the posts I will relay to you some of the children's godparents / Gevattern  whom are  usually family. As always feel free to ask questions, give comments that we can use here.

Sources:   The church document from Nahrendorf church archives via Herr Bock. More of it is still coming.

 Only I arootdigger has these documents and there fore no other should have it but family. If you want to copy for your own purpose as a family member ask me. No other should have this on the internet.
