Hi,
I am the grandaughter of Frank Luhmann.

I think this is the Luhmann family you are trying to locate.

The Luhmann family immigrated from Bleckede (Kleinburg), Province of Hanover,
Germany in the spring of 1892. The farm one half mile west of Farnhamville,
Iowa, leading out from Main Street, was purchased from Obed Bassett.

Family arriving were:
Paternal Grandfather: Ernest Friederich (1811-1896)
Father: Christian Friederich Wilhelm (1847-1906)
Mother: Elizabeth Magdalene Louise Schmidt (1847-1916)
Son: Fred (1873-1906)
Son: Wilhelm (1874-1952)
Daughter: (Eliese (1876-1962)
Son: Heinrich (1878-1930)
Son: Franz Ernest Friederich (1882-1961)
Daughter: Dora (1887-1973)
Son: Carl (1888-1971)
Daughter: Lena (1890-1952)

Fred never married.

Wilhelm (Will) married Caroline Kandler. 2 Daughters Martha and Caroline

Eliese (Lizzie) married Wilhelm Wohne. 4 daughters Hilda, Lena, Frieda and
Luella

Heinrich (Hank) married Caroline Abel. 4 sons Otto, Leo, Earl and Archie

In 1909 Franz (Frank) married Bertha Anna Marie Burger (1892 - 1974) who came
to America from Hamburg, Germany in 1908. They remained on the estate until
it was sold to Joe Givens in 1914. Then with Daughters Gertrude Marie (1911)
and Frances Magdalene (1913-1995) they moved to a farm purchased near
Hendricks, Minnesota. Born there were Marie Antoniette (1917) and Margaret
Helen (1920).

Gertrude married Frank Anton Walter in (1938). 2 Children Frank Joseph
(1939) and Frances Ann (1944)
Frances married Vern King (1932). 2 Children Lynne Luhmann (1942) and James
Frederick (1946)
Marie married Glenn Ablett (1935). 3 Children Kay Frances (1937-1939),
Connie Lea (1939) and Keith Luhmann (1941)
Margaret married Don Earwood (1940). 4 Children Fred Russell (1941), Nancy
Luh (1949), Donald Edgar (1952) and Terry E. (1955)

Dora married Oscar Matice. 2 Children Clarence and Farlow. Dora later
married Kamill Friemel.

Carl married Eva Hall (1892-1922). 2 children Avis Darlyne and Eva Doryl
(1922-1922) Carl married Nellie Woodcock in 1926. Adopted daughter Verda
Lea.

Lena married Edward Perry. 2 sons Carle E and Jack L.

I just started looking into my family history. All 4 of my grandparents were
born in Germany.
................ My Aunt Gert is also related to the Vogels and
Taslers thru her marriage to Frank Walter.
