Kinder Juergen Friedrich Meyer und Luhmann Tree

To see it larger, click it and then open it in another page.At least that is the way I am able to see it with my xp windows program. What your seeing above is the church document from the Nahrendorf church listing the children or Kinder of Juergen Friedrich Meyer and Catharina Margarethea Luhmann. This last one 2[1] is continued kinder child 6, 7 and 8. into a second page. I had not been told before about the last birth. It comes as no surprise as lead to the cause of her death.. What I love about this is the extra information involving their spouses. And their deaths. Child No. 6 - Dorothea Elisabeth Meyer was married to Holldorf, Carl Friedrich Gustav.

Luhmann, Lumann, Meyer familienforschung

To enlarge this for viewing click it and then after you have done that try putting it in another tab.

I realize that my Meyer Luhmann familienforschung is further back in the ,blog posts. around 2008. The search for our Meyer and then Lumann  family history work was don at the archives of Dahlenburg and  Nahrendorf was done by angel in Uelzen. Now going over  the church information  that I received last year I have noticed some changes in the information. So lets start with an attachment   file of  familienforschung for Juergen Friedrich Meyer and his wife Catharina Margaretha Luhmann who lived at Eichdorf and Oldendorf in Prussia.
I hope the view of the file works for you. I had particularly asked if they could supply hints for residence.  It was not  the specific  place in the village that I was hoping to find.  But it is helpful. all the same.  Notice  the attention to the fact that Juergen Friedrich Meyer lived at Röthen  at the time he married Ahrens. You'll have to check older blogs  to see those png  files.

I hope your interested in the updates I have on the Luhmann family history ancestry. I should be posting that png file very soon. Remind me if it doesn't come in a day or two.

Second Child of Meyer / Ahrens - Anna Louise Auguste Meyer

Anna Louise Auguste Meyer must have had a short but,  nice life.
Like my mother she was a twin that lived to adulthood without the other. This particular child lived long enough to be godmother herself and   to be a source of the  name  for  our Anna Meyer Bennett. According to the highlighted  material below Anna Louise Auguste married  Hermann Heinrich Wilhelm Haul, a schuhmacher in Oldendorf. She almost made it to 28 years  of age.  She probably had children,  and more than likely it was a double childs birth that took her life.  We should try and get those family history tree records. Maybe we can find some of the Haul family in the area.

Note: I have had the church records to these twins before I knew they actually were our on Juergen Friedrich Meyer's family history tree  [I had my suspicions,  let me tell you.]
Each time I get a duplicate record of family members there are usually facts that are different than the others.
I  can live with it. But I need to point  out those  particular discrepancies as I go along.

The Discrepancies on this page.
1- I am wondering if the name Grummer is correct I am  recalling the name Grummet.
I'll get back to this. I need to locate pages etc.  later.

You all have a good day.

Enough already with the English and Irish Roots.

I am excited today. Heres why. The time has come.
Reba Mcentire will be on WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE tonight on Nbc. I have been waiting for this family History just because I love her so. I will have to miss it, but will catch up on it online later. I know, I know, I could record it, but I have a different tv with the old vcr not hooked to it, so it's not possible anymore with the tv I have. [ Its new to me and it actually has a vcr in it and I don't know how to run it.] I am going to remedie that another way one of these days.

Reba Mcentire has been advertised on some other interview based show too. I haven't really checked on that. I heard her say something about a plane crash. I'd like to know what that was all about. We know it will be about Reba Mcentire's Irish or scotish [ or both ] roots settled into North Carolina. Something about a nine year old immigrant's mystery based reveal of family history. Sorry I haven't watched the trailers, but you can.

I just have to part by asking you: doesn't it seem that there is an awful lot of Irish and English backgrounds going on with that show. Or Black history.

So I say,

" Come on "Who do you think you are" producers, give us some ordinary German genealogy folks. Also while your at it maybe those who have nothing to do with Polish roots with all the drama of concentration camps and extermination!!.

Just saying!.

I really do love the family history on the show.

No matter whose. I am glad we have the show.

I look forward to watching the reveal of

Reba Mcentire's family history.

We are not missing out on any whims around here.

Garden of Jamie Anderson - Harvey Probst-Dunn co. Wi.

Hi, welcome back. Or maybe I mean that for myself. I just have been trying to join into a few activities this summer. I haven't neglected my other blogs too, just a few. I started a few posts and if I added anything a bit complicated, they just didn't get finished unfortunately.
I decided not to load you down with my excuses. Most of them not new. - It's summer, - Garden - Housework - Family History - Genealogy Research.

So this post today is brief. I have a few things to share as I pick up a little bit. I really do have to,and still need to get caught up on housework more. So no promises to better are coming. I more or less gave up on growing some major vegetables. It seems without enrichment to the soil and my methods with the beans didn't make them grow. The cucumber plants are so very small. Then too we had such along winter here in Wisconsin, I didn't want to risk planting so early. Let me say, I should have and mean to next year.

Well as far as my family tree in genealogy research goes, I have had to visit my Heins blog many times. In a whim of a search for some data, I caught my error. and noticed the mistake in the HEINS family in the information where the church researcher left off that I had been given. Yes, how embarrassing, huh? I think some details changed or some kind of unnoticed mix up. Because Christy never said anything as she double checked either. I do believe Herr Soltau noticed something, which I didn't catch on to what he meant about an error, as well. Anyway, Herr Fink had it posted at this website, where details on the family were missing long before under my HEINS and WINKELMANN, KOCH names. I have sent many a person to my detail and there. Maybe someone noticed my errors and said something to Herr Fink and he filled in some new data as it came in. I believe it makes more sense as to what Mr. M & M told me. I am glad to see more family history data under the family surnames.

And now I follow my whims to where the new names lead me.
I like the results so much better. And, I am not losing much for surnames, believe me.

In this area of Bergen, Celle, [Nord Celle] the surnames keep going like the Eveready Bunny. Going and Going. From one family to another and off in all the little side shoots. So I hope to share a little more on this error and the new results in the coming months.

No, you can't cheat by jumping to my HEINS family tree blog Genealogy of a rootdigger, because it's not fixed there at all either. It is however a Genealogy work in progress at ancestry.com, and I have the line on my Gerd family tree page. If your a member and a follower, if you have a whim to see those updates there. Or simply leave a comment or email me.

Books and Amazon advertisement // Post has been hijacked to Comfortable Couch Price

It's no secret that I am a book lover. I have been contemplating placing something about Genealogy and family history, research books on one of my web pages. I especially have been thinking of adding some ads from Amazon. And maybe a book list on subjects I am interested in. Which is vast. I just have been a

little shy about it. Burying my head, you might say.

I don't feel I should do it on arootdigger.blogspot, because it's overloaded as it is.
I was wondering if any of my fellow bloggers have any advice for me. Any comments on the subject of placing the Amazon ads. I realize many genealogy bloggers do not even attempt any ads at all. Not that I have studied those with three columns throughly. It's highly possible they have ads or links to something that does.

Anything I gain or make goes back into my great love of the Genealogy hobby. As I have mentioned, my AdSense is not hooked up completely yet for my rewards to roll in. [ smile].

In any case family and friends please do not click the ads. If you know me, do not click any ads. You would not be helping me in anyway. You could do us harm.

If I were to roll in a income of anything over a hundred dollars :
1. I have two favorite church archives which would benefit. Dahlenburg and Nahrendorf.
2. I have other churches, such as Soltau district and Thomasburg church, which would benefit from the donation.
3. I have a person who could round up some More Meyer and Seil information in two or three days from the Hannover archives. I would pay all fees and travel time. It's a deal I have had to pass up. After all I managed to hire Friedrich Burmester of Bleckede a few years back with great results. He must be nearly ninety years old by now. I am not sure how active at it he is these days.
4. Several keepers of the regional books would profit. Such as Greene county, Iowa, I hear they have a new book coming out.
5. If only I could use it to travel to Illinois, Iowa or Minnesota for information, more often.
- Naturally I would share all information gleamed for the next five years to come.

The draw back is that maybe it would increase my Book want list.
Oh how I wish I could do all the stuff I dream about here. The oncoming years close to retirement has put a little fear in me, enough so I have been very cautious about spending.

In the words of my relative, a blog has to be more than a report of my dreams and wishes. If your looking for more than what you find here, by all means please check my blog lists to the right. There are tons of blogs with information and. entertainment of all kinds that can satisfy any genealogy family history research sweet tooth.

Gosh, I love sharing the information I find here at arootdigger and at my Oldendorf, Nahrendorf blog. Thanks for the opportunity, and coming here to read now and then. Stay around now and then to see what new posting I am making.

He copyrighted this post and I think he should share half his profit, don't you. ?

Garrison, Husband, Fehring Surnames Family Ancestry Research at Nevada,

Memorial Stone of Fehring.location he died at Adobetown,  but buried at Nevada Cemetery in Montana.

Today we're working along the ancestry family tree history line of the FEHRING and GARRISON . I spent a few hours on it last night. and then I decided to take a quick glance in rootsweb to see if anyone has the tree. I can say proudly someone had that exact tree. Don't you love it when things fall in line like dominoes.

Diane has
published the tree with a highlight of her surnames of HEDINGER and WALTER. She briefly covers the Garrison tree. which ties to Union county, Iowa.

The family history ancestry of Milton GARRISON with Margaret HUSBAND famiy tree goes back much further, but at the moment those whom we have mentioned that are concern to us were at Nevada city; Virginia City; and Adler Gulch; Dillon Beaverhead cities in Nevada. GARRISON, and Elsie FEHRING and her parents family history John B. are briefly covered by Diane.
Elsie FEHRING details

You can check on the James and Milton GARRISON ancestors at Rootsweb ancestry site for easy browsing. The GARRISON family changed locations through out the years. To name a few places there was Hamilton county, Ohio; Wapello, Iowa; North Carolina; New York; and Indiana co. Pennsylvania. [ Don't you just hate that when they mix the state names in a city town /state like that.] The maternal family ancestral lines are not as well covered, which is not all that unusual. Maternal lines BOLAR, HUSBAND, MEYER, FEHRING family history lineage.

I find that a review of the same family ancestral trees that I find on line whether it is from Ancestry.com or Family tree maker; they help verify, clear up any little details I might have missed. At the moment it is a bit disappointing that the family Tree information that I found at Roots web about the parents of Elsie -> John B. Fehring and Mary [Meyer ] is just as bare of the maternal line information as mine. In fact there is not even a mention of a former location, especially that at Galena, Jo Daviess county, Illinois.

If you desire more information on the family history Garrison lineage, be sure to click the links and you'll find the family history large and small trees.

Fehring Family Ancestry Research at Nevada, Illinois, Iowa

Welcome back to another family history research and genealogy post.

I have for personal reasons been in a little depression slump the past week, I can easily bring myself out by some deeply immersed researching and browsing for family. So I dug in to FEHRING/ MEYER.
Today, I have been busy since the rooster, crowed, I tell you.
That is the kind of ancestral research I love. Is it logical research, probably not? You know how that goes, right. [ I hope I am not the only one. ]

So let me fill you in.
A little review at the same time.
I have mentioned a few times that a Mary MEYER had a license to marry John D. FEHRING at Galena, Illinois.
FEHRING, JOHN D -
MEYER, Mary Intended spouse.
1873-02-14 D/ 117- JO DAVIESS, Illinois
at Galena Jo Daviess county, Illinois.
Which could have been my
Mary who immigrated in 1869 with Fritz or
Fred Meyer,
who is no stranger to us.
I am told that the marriage did not follow
through into another marriage record there.
She could have gone with him
to places others have moved to settle.

Remember my post of maps Highland, Greene county. I mentioned at that time of a Mary Fehring land owner there next to Fred. And I have given you glimpses of Meyer with Highland's land records for other years. At that time I was trying to find some connection of FEHRING and GARRISON. Just something that will maybe let me latch me onto a tree at ancestry.

Clinton county, Iowa.

Following Fehrings I have mosied around Sugar Creek settlement at Clinton county, Iowa. I understand some Fehrings have gone off to Mo. and Wi. Oklahoma. Some have settled in a couple of places in Minnesota. One of them was at Nobles county Minnesota. Possibly M& M meant them as he told me of relatives at Nobles county, Minnesota, but I am not sure.

The research I did was a little at familysearch.org beta and it mentioned Union county, Iowa.
Browsing a little at Union county, Iowa message board and maybe leaving a vague post is what I do best, so I shall do that soon.
Here is the juicy little document I have refered to over and over for my research the last few days. There are of course a few others that feed into this one.
But notice the area of Dillion, Montana.

I have followed up with a little research into census also doing google research a bit with it.
As far as I am concerned one can never have too many windows open at the same time.

If you glance at my side margin below the tuit sign; you will find the family search ancestry of Jurgen Friedrich MEYER's children's birth dates. One of my Mary Meyer's birth date is 1847. [ It's possible she is hiding as Myer, Mayer, Mier, and heaven forbid as Meyers.] I guess yet another one commited that unforgivable sin with that 'S' on the end of MEYER; and so I had better search more for MEYERS from now on.

In the mean time
John B. FEHRING [ Notice it is not a D] leads to Elsie FEHRING and her husband James GARRISON family history, whom I have spent a little time on researching his family history as well as HUSBAND. [ It's like blogs, one leads to another. ]
I also have found the location of several in locations of Madison county, Montana. Evidently GARRISON was a gold miner at Virginia city; Alder Gulch; maybe Bannick. Some of the family is buried at Nevada city, Montana. I found a very interesting website about the old western towns some of which became ghost towns. You may find that interesting, I found it very distracting! However just think of possible ancestors active in this old west life. We did those reinactions as a kid with our cap guns, hats and kerchiefs.

I shall browse the Nevada city Cemetery and a few other Virginia city cemetery listings.

RELAXING family history Research
will continue on FEHRING, MEYER and GARRISON in all normal phases as well.
I am a bit sad about not being able to pin point my Mary with exact details. Am I wasting time doing this when this might not be her? I just get the details point to it being right!. This is the way I do it some days. No exactly professional genealogist methods. I do keep forgetting what I have learned about FEHRINGs. For that reason, I keep some information at the side margin. See some Fehring family researched by others there. I do have to review what others have to say about the families. I have a vague memory of Nobles county Minnesota family going to or coming from Montana or Oklahoma, so I will follow through on that hunch and see where it gets me.

I haven't had the opportunity to follow them to Nevada before via GARRISON, and so this trip is a pleasure.
I suppose I will keep this up and keep 'lil ol' blog updated on this family history research, so any of you can help me out, right?. Anyway, it helps to record as one goes.

All in all, I have a good feeling that I am a few paces forward,
even though I don't know about this Meyer for sure as being the exact one I need. No I am not sure if the Meyer there in Nevada, and Elsie Fehring died early, but I am hopeing I gain more clues or that lucky detail that will further my search,

For some reason Alder Gulch, the area they first discovered gold keeps calling me, so I may take a browsing detour right now...
See you Later.

Note: Surnames found along the way, HUSBAND, DONEGAN,
Note: Latter day saints research beta suggested different spellings of Fehring, - Ferring, Fering, Fiering Fahring.

Following Family History and Genealogy Bloggers Friday

This my First attempt to follow on Friday.
Many moons ago, I figured out how to find other bloggers with common interests. I am sure the rest of you know the secret, so I won't bore you with the details. I was following those of
genealogy last night, and this morning I tried family history. I used to bookmark some sites I liked now and I follow them, and sometimes add them to the blog roll if they have features which will not allow me to bookmark. Or sometimes it's just difficult to find them, because they don't leave a very good trail of bread crumbs, so I can visit them again.
I observed while cruising, that a great deal of family history bloggers were from England, Australia or New Zealand. And western states, and eastern states Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Not all that much from the mid west, and that's probably due to the fact they're busy shoveling snow or sitting in the basement, because of tornadoes. Most of the lady bloggers had an interest as well with crafts and decorating. Just as my find for Friday does.

My find to share today is
from this blog address-- http://cmgurney.blogspot.com/
I know most bloggers of genealogy detest people taking content from their pages, even if you have followed them on Friday, whereas it once was more acceptable for decor bloggers. I believe I am the cut and paste queen, but not so obviously today. So I will try and tell you in my own words and with links what you will find there.
First of all Caroline Gurney from Caro's Family Chronicles belongs to Society of Genealogists that puts out a book with a darling picture of a child on it's cover, called "My Ancestor Was A Bastard." I intend to look and find out what the story is on that one. There are many more delightful books at that link. [ Hopefully one on the Red Cross worker..]

Maybe your like me and you gravitate towards those people with humor, so I thought you might enjoy her first post on the page. " 10 things my ancestors did to annoy me". Some of us have some annoying ancestors. Her first onehit me as similar to my situation. They settled where three counties meet. My Webster, Calhoun and Greene counties of Iowa meet near Farnhamville. So I get it.[ Though maybe mine has a little more distance between them than hers.] Some day I'll have to see if she mentions any surgeon Gurney in California. husband of my[Lois] Carter descendant.

She has been busy restoring a 300 year old house and blogging about that as well as her other blogs - This old house; The Sodbury Blog; Caro's Place; and carosfamily.com She is from Chipping Sodbury in South Gloucestershire. Caroline is a history graduate from Bristol University and a former diplomat and civil servant, involved in teaching computing and family history with hobbies of family history, computers, blogging since may 2007 and sudoku. Besides being married with two grown-up children. Like many of us she has a personal site, "devoted to all the things that make life good" that we need to just express ourselves.

She follows Genea Bloggers, Dr Bill, Ancestry.com blog, Ancestry Insider among others.
Her posts are informative, has tips for research, at times amusing, so I would say your time is well spent Following the blog with Caroline at

Any One In The Family Care To Research Henke?

Please do research the Henke family history, if you have the desire to do so. I have next to nothing on this familien name Henke. Hencke. The family name appeared on records around the cities of Muden Oertze bei Fassberg.

As you know she was Anna Marie Henke. She married Johann Heins. After birth of a few children they moved to Oldendorf. That is where Juergen Heinrich Wilhelm Meyer
[geb. eichdorf] married Maria Heins. I have often wondered how William Meyer met the daughter Maria Dorothea Heins. Perhaps the family moved there first. I have wondered if they had something to do with the hunting lodge at Roethen in the Goehrde area.

If you have results, would you please let me know what you find. Thank you.

Note: In America Heins took on the spelling of Heinz by the various relatives.

Luhmann Family History Information From the Letter of a Family Member

Farnhamville street scene from Centennial of Farnhamville book

-----Original Message-----
From: Pegg
Subject: Frank Luhmann Family of Farnhamville, Iowa & Hendricks, Minnesota

Thu, 27 Sep 2001

Hi,
I am the grandaughter of Frank Luhmann.

I think this is the Luhmann family you are trying to locate.

The Luhmann family immigrated from Bleckede (Kleinburg), Province of Hanover,
Germany in the spring of 1892. The farm one half mile west of Farnhamville,
Iowa, leading out from Main Street, was purchased from Obed Bassett.

Family arriving were:
Paternal Grandfather: Ernest Friederich (1811-1896)
Father: Christian Friederich Wilhelm (1847-1906)
Mother: Elizabeth Magdalene Louise Schmidt (1847-1916)
Son: Fred (1873-1906)
Son: Wilhelm (1874-1952)
Daughter: (Eliese (1876-1962)
Son: Heinrich (1878-1930)
Son: Franz Ernest Friederich (1882-1961)
Daughter: Dora (1887-1973)
Son: Carl (1888-1971)
Daughter: Lena (1890-1952)

Fred never married.

Wilhelm (Will) married Caroline Kandler. 2 Daughters Martha and Caroline

Taslers thru her marriage to Frank Walter.
