Am 4.6.1732 meldete Tönnies SCHLICHT ein weiteres Kind Christian Joachim ??? zur Taufe an, nach den damaligen Gepflogenheiten dürfte es von seiner[ 2.] FRAU Anna Eleonore stammen, die aber auch kurz darauf am 16.8.1732 starb, das Kind starb am 8.9.1732.
Seine 3. Ehe schloß Tönnies SCHLICHT mit Maria Ilsabe Hövermann, Tochter des Hans Heinrich HOEVERMANN. aus Walmsburg, im Jahre 1736.
1749 heiratete der Anerbe Jürgen Friedrich SCHLICHT, *29.4.1718, Anna Dorothea BROCKMANN aus Harmstorf.
Jürgen Friedrich SCHLICHT starb bereits am 13.4.1754. Die Hofübergabe sollte erst später erfolgen, kam aber doch schon sehr früh, weil Vater Tönnies SCHLICHT am 9.3.1751
im Alter von 64 Jahren starb.

Honoring My Father for Fathers Day
Hi, I have wandered in for Fathers Day. I thought I would babble a little about some personal moments spent with my father and quit when the demons of guilt attack me.
You see at the right some penny photos of my father Dwight R Meyer. I have had several photos of him at several blogs. He was an adorable small child.
In those pictures my mom always said that he was dressed like a little girl. It makes you wonder sometimes if it was a subconscious action of Grandma Annie? After all she had two boys, not a girl and a boy.
Do you have relatives Dressed like girls?
You now Lyle was given his own photos, and so what he wore when he was small is kind of unknown to me. Perhaps dad wore his hand me downs.
I think they were given play rompers which could be bleached as washed. Play clothes but not exactly like you know the Trapp family play clothes in the musical movie Sound of Music. Luckily it was not from drape material.
Dad certainly needed them.
At any rate, I'll throw in a few of those links below so you can see for yourself.
Dwight Meyer second born son born February 8, 1918 at theme they lived at rural Sunnyslope farm in southern Minnesota. I am sorry I know nothing about the details, if it was actually on the farm or at the hospital.
It probably was not that well known that he had left handed tendencies. As I was just a little thing I remember him consoling me as I was trying to use a scissor or a some tool, he confided that he too had a difficult time with those kind of tools. This confidence reveals two things. It was how he was with me, as sympathetic understanding father with a softer side. Also it reveals that he had left handed tendencies which made things a bit more difficult for Dewey because everyone tried to make him do the normal way. So as a child he had to relearn a task of using scissors.
I think too though it was rarely said and rarely understood, that he was the youngest male at the farm. Most people don't know that he had his mothers half brothers and sisters, whom he lived with and saw them daily at different times. One day feeling a sibling crunch, he had confided to me in his gentle way, that there were times when he too had to pay the toll toward the elders. I never knew at the time that those Jaesckes were those whom he was thinking. I had thought it was his brother.
I had no real thoughts on all this or clues, and it was those tender moments in recall I was gifted the important genealogical information that confirmed some hunches, which led to facts for me, which lead to further wonderful discoveries
I thought I would show Dad as a father here holding his eldest son Sonny. Next to him is a Unknown to me tall family member. I always hought of him as tall enough, but guess he wasn't as tall as some of his family like probably the Nahnsen members.

You may have noticed that I have mentioned many times the M & M guy in Fairmont and his vast knowledge about our Families. And yes it includes a vast amount of association of names. I try to recall those many associations from time to time. I was reminded today of his comment about a Kantor at the church and the large organ as I found this article about the Dahlenburg town.
It reminded me that earlier this year Herr Rose mentioned that maybe our grgrgrandmother Henke family name might not be that, but maybe MENKE. He said he saw something in the church records that refered to a woman MENKE. I wish he had told me more specifics of that, but he didn't. He also didn't know I had received some information from the Bergen church Pastor in Belsen landkries Celle.
Ssince she had lived by Mueden, he had suggested, I contact the Fassberg church. Sorry to say I that I haven't yet done so. Why you wonder.
Later the information from the Bergen church and family information from Soltau has been put out at the Gedbas and so I thought no need. I also specifically wrote to one of the site managers that dealt with those family names. Even so, I am not sure how the pastor at Bergen got that little bit of information if Heinrich Heins and Anna Maria Henke were married in the Mueden Oertze area.
To make a long story short, there has been very little information about Henke at the Soltau - Fallingbostel family names. I really do need to find more information. And still write to the church. My thought is that they must have emigrated there, though I have seen a few mentioned in the German phone book. It is so far a dead end with the Henke family name surname.
I did find her death recorded at the Nahrendorf church. The documents on the marriage of Anna Maria Henke's daughter can be seen further back of this arootdiggerblogspot of Juergen Heinrich Wilhelm Meyer and Maria Dorothea Heins marriage and their family records.
So since Herr Rose told me that, I have been looking for information on Menke, while I am researching family surname ancestors in the various Celle archives and

Ohio FEHRING Family Data
Talk about finding a female Waldo.
Well that's about as hard as it gets to find something about the Fehring who found our Mary at Galena or Jackson county, Iowa before they wed. Also, I never found a Mary Meyer on the census in 1870. She was there a short time. First because I wasn't sure if she was the oldest Mary or the youngest. Plus she may have had to have the name Catherine or Elisabeth too. One is not always sure which name they used.
Then too, nothing fits exactly with a lot of pieces of research available about the Fehring family in United States It's just that the pieces don't all fit together as of yet, that prove anything. I'll share some of the information I have. Eventually something will fall into place.
I don't really know where Johan B. Fehring or Johann D. Fehring originated before Jo Davies county in Illinois. I know little about the few Fehrings that once lived at Jackson county, Iowa. And very little about the Mary Fehring who owned land in the same area that Fred Meyer squatted. Records did show he was considered her Tenant. They were seeking title to that land through the supreme courts. I share this with you because someone suggested theI Galena Illinois Fehrings came from Ohio.
Those listed below are all taken from ancestry.con census.
Keep in mind that we had two Mary Meyer born in Germany, who could have married a Fehring at Galena area. And one of them stayed in germany and married a Schmobel in the shipping business. Unless it was a stepsister that married the Schmobel.

My thoughts heavily lean towards Mary # 2
I dont think this Mary born 1853 listed first below works for me. And not possible for them to have been married already at 1880 for 27 years. Maria was born at oldendorf or Eichdorf. And if the Mary Fehring were to fit into the shoes of the "Montana Mary Fehring" she would have no previous children. Two would have been Else and her eldest, Wilhelm not born until 1875 . Already living in Montana by 1880. So for three or more reasons I think we can cancel out this family.

A leaf has turned
Well the title is nice, but misleading. Can I use it another time?
It's not genealogy related.
No changes there at the moment.
What has changed is the ranting I have been doing about my content being stolen. My blog content was scraped even those recent ones with copyright notation. Yes nasty scrapers. But I noticed some cancellations of some of the blog content in the posts of Mommato2kids with amazon sales and also ash bullock who stold nearly all my posts has also been put down. Now I need to see if it is all of them, or just a few I happen to see.
I Did notice that cached copies are still out there and it might be all they need to keep going. I am sure they have recuperated somehow with another name of an account or blog. Time will tell. As I get my nose to the grindstone and check further.
And still the other xxx is still out there with my posts. He just uses a different format. Comfortable couch price. What a name for a blog! A blog with unethical means to an end. Hopefully his or her end of using my posts. And again I wonder how much they made from this scraping of my content.
Just remember to check you overview for post readers for the day and see who is doing this viewing. My current crawlers are behancenet.gallery and trustcombat I doubt any of them are good. I read a little about some of them.

Where is Waldo ...... SEIL on the Passenger ship list ?

Marie Seil was born about 1812. At the age of 61, she departed from Hamburg, Germany, on April 9, 1873, and she arrived in New York. Her residence is listed as Netzendorf which is part of The Dahlenburg area. Maria Seil's birth date is on her tombstone as 9.September.1811. Her death was 15.Aug.1890.

Now I can't say with complete certainty that it is her. I mean, how can you with only limited signs of proof?.
I have the name and year of birth mediumly accurate. The birth year for this Maria Seil is 1812. [9.September.1811.] Close enough.
Her residence is Netzendorf which is totally surprising. Since I pictured in my mind as living in the village of Dahlenburg. But Netzendorf is included in the territory of Dahlenburg. Just as it is in territory of Bleckede.
Note : Prior to finding this immigration, I had discovered via AIDAauswandereronline that a Dorman family resided at Fladen. Searching their passage from Fladen [by Dahlenburg] through Hamburg I learned that right next to the last Dorman listed on that ship passenger list was a Johann H. Seil with birth year 1842 similar to that of the Joliet living Johann Heinrich Seil. Ancestor of the Wilhelm Seil author of the author of the book Sherlock Holmes Mystery of the Titantic. [ See older posts.] He is thought to have immgrated 1872. I'll do a post on these. And there is conflicting name info as to if it is the Henry Dohrman of Joliet, Will county, Illinois with Dorothy Seil as wife.

History is personal.
Welcome back. The weather has cooled slightly and has hints of snow or rain soon. I have been taking time out to clean out the flower beds before they get too far along, I won't easily accomplish the job.
In any case, Here I sit ready to share a little thought I have had on my mind while raking..
Have you ever read the flowery biographies in those community history books compiled by society members of the community. I have examples at the side in several blog rolls and links. I'll draw your attention to a few links. to illustrate the example. Notice how they freely told you how the pioneer stood on his politics. They told you if he was a Republican or Democrat. As if each person was very proud of those views or is the privilege of being able to say those opinions and stand out in the community and proudly proclaim their views. It was a big deal for our ancestors. I suppose it still is but in a different way.
And I as a reader about the individual, now has a clear picture of what the pioneer was all about. His personal and his public views.
Sometimes were lucky to have a few correspondences or our family where a political event or a personal opinion occurs that were pleased to find. Sometimes those views have been mentioned many time in family stories about the individual. It makes history of their day more personal, and of course History is personal.Our family pertain to it is interesting. Whether we personally agree or give it no real thought at all. But Understanding is the key.
I have realized, that and I wonder how much I want my descendants to know how we fall into the events or locality how I fit into the history as it is being made day by day. I at times, not even sure what I think some days. If eel a need to give my excuses, my views etc of why my life has been what it has been. To show my niche in this large world. Then again I keep so much of my thoughts and real feelings to myself. In fact when political advocates call me, I tell them my intentions and who I am going to vote for are private.
So I guess it is surprising that a few posts back, I published a view I had on a local politics and I wanted to open some eyes to the future efects if these events get ignored. It is surprising in a a lot of ways that it did reflect the worries I had, have. It is this kind of post I wanted to do to open some people eyes like a warning, because the Holocaust did not happen overnight.
After reviewing the Genea Bloggers code of conduct this week I realizeed it was inappropriate for I a Genea Blogger to publish Political views. Escpecially in the way I wrote that Post in an angry mode. So I removed it. I may write it in another way, if I want to express and give my excuses about this time and place in our lives. As I have said so far in different ways history has it's influence on our lives. Politics have an influence on our lives. I want my descendants who read any remaining blogs fifty years from now understand how the politics, and economy we have now influences our lives so much. They have to know how it caused depression and changes that we have to deal with personally each in our own ways. I am sure I can convey that differently than I did. perhaps informative and conveying more than one opinion. And if need be in another blog as suggested or simply someplace else..

Name Translation during family history research is not awlays a good thing.
While I was working on a Reinecke family history of the hof 2 in Sueschendorf, I noticed while I was using a translator, there was some reversal involved in Names. I have to admit, I do proof my information before I publish it, but I very well could overlook that as I type something refering to the translated copy more than the original.
I noticed earlier someones name translated as Ground Pool. Now I will have to see just who has that name.
You may have noticed that the translator translates names and places so you have to contstantly check the German written article all along the way. I just like to understand as I go along.
So I am going to be aware and maybe back check with the original papers over the next months as I lay my hands on them.
In fact I remember one person had the name translated as decrement. How awful.
If you happen to notice some differences in the order of the names. please point them out to me.

Hot linking and Copyright Issues vs. Genealogy reporting
Hi, it's good to be here. I have a few Genealogical issues on my mind dealing with my reporting to download to you today.
Copyright Issues
I have to admit it's built up guilt that brought me here to post today. I was browsing and ran into Dick Eastman's website about copyrights amd another on the issues here [Is this a hotlink?] and then by browsing the Internet about Ancestry.com and bloggers violating copywriting issues with Ancestry.com and Find a Grave photos.
I admit I am still a little fuzzy about the Hot linking concept. You may have to clarify that issue yourself, since I shouldn't direct link to those pages.???? [lol]
I won't expand on all the reasons of why I have linked to pages rather than take the images. However from Ancestry sources, I had felt it was okay to do so since it was my Person. I also wanted to share my findings.
I simply wanted to save someone else the work of going through a persons websites in search of a particular picture or a phrase that they are interested in. I thought that linking to them was not stealing their image and a bonus by giving them more traffic.
So even in our little societies, one has to be careful. I have so far avoided doing the Follow Friday, because I have been scared of offending someone. I tried it years ago as a beginner blogger, by a review of a blogger from Minnesota by inserting some of her work into my pages highlighting her talent for words. I wrote her and she never once acknowledged me back. I found out later she was atually offended by my attention to her work. Which I finally figured out was wrong. And I hate to be wrong.
So instead, I had decided I would send them to a particular page rather than remove their content. I would say mainly media content. Even though I am not claiming it as my own. Now with the reading of information, It's not so good to direct link that way.
But now I see one should save the location to a private file. And just say that I found the information at the general blog. I should say I found it at ancestry. I can relay the facts I found at ancestry or anywhere else, but not use their bandwidth in doing so. I don't wish to violate copyright.
So folks if you wish more details on those facts and pages I said I found; go right ahead and email me. Or let me know through comment your interested and I 'll be sure to send it your way.
I have browsed to see if I am the only blogger who does this, and there is comfort in saying I am not. However, not all of those who use Ancestry.com's pages have Adsense on their pages. I do. And I realize that Google ads do not want copyright issues. I am still going to link to sites and not direct linking is going to be sooo very difficult for me for awhile. I had many ads on my site from Ancestry.com which seem to be gone lately. And this disturbs me.

This also brings up my problem issues of:
1. storage of the locations of my data.
2. a longer time factor in a posting, which actually lends itself to a more creative posting possibility.
3. matters of my sources which Is not the greatest idea any way of using a website as a source of information. One must go past that basic website location.
4. whether I go back and place some of my pages in draft or a hold position until I correct this. And am I going to go back and change all my pages?
5. details of main page, home page and joint pages.

3. matters of my sources which Is not the greatest idea any way of using a website as a source of information. One must go past that basic website location.
4. whether I go back and place some of my pages in draft or a hold position until I correct this. And am I going to go back and change all my pages?
5. details of main page, home page and joint pages.
I have browsed to see if I am the only blogger who does this, and there is comfort in saying I am not. However, not all of those who use Ancestry.com's pages have Adsense on their pages. I do. And I realize that Google ads do not want copyright issues. I am still going to link to sites and not direct linking is going to be sooo very difficult for me for awhile. I had many ads on my site from Ancestry.com which seem to be gone lately. And this disturbs me.

Now if you notice some item you wanted to browse or some detail your not seeing, it probably is on hold, just ask and I will share it with you. I welcome your opinion on this hot topic.

The 'ol' copyright issues in this new year.
Hi Everyone,
You haven't missed any informational genealogy posts yet. They simply haven't been done. Instead - I am mulling over the copyright issues that will involve some of us; who took a few risks posting other's material. Even though we gave credit due. I've noticed that other bloggers posted pictures etc., when they did not know to whom it belonged. So I have decisions to make. Reviewing to do.
I especially used whole documents, which do not open enough to be readable. Which may also be of questionable use. I freely quoted, with documentation.
So I still think there are a few items on a few pages that call for some Editing. I hope you readers feel free to ask if you wish to see the original document. I will try to supply better sources other than website links to my information.
Would it help if I devoted a page with notes and links the pages that were changed?.
So that will keep me busy. I think that I may be tempted from time to time to shorten some posts, so if you see new posts it might be due to that inspiration.

I kind of put newly found trees in the back burner and move on to the next. I never really studied all the individual names and places. They seem to be like me at a bar in the olden days - mingle with like, but never connected with anyone. So I thought I should be arootdigger and dig out trees of Rosseborg/ Wenige/ Thiele/Petesch & Schroeder. The names Warnecke, Schoop, Bagung are intriguing me today.
You know I won't be able to keep myself from jotting down some thoughts as I do so.
You never know, I just might share a few of those thoughts.
So it might be a good idea to check in to see.
Old Memories, Old pages of documents, Old blog pages from Family history research
Digging into old pages digs up old memories, which prompts me for older stories and data of Leestahl.
Whatever the motivation I thought I would share this immigration family Saucke from Leestahl. It could come in handy, when I do a few mini series about Jahnke, Rappaul.
This was found at AIDA.
